1st Regional Convening on Child Domestic Work in East Africa
Azadi Community hosted the 1st Regional
Convening on the State of Child Domestic Work
(CDW) on the 28th and 29th of July 2025 in Nairobi
that brought together over 100 representatives of people with lived experiences, CSOs, government
and private sector actors working around child
domestic work in East Africa. The forum’s goal
was to present evidence on the state of child
domestic work including prevalence rates,
challenges, key lessons learnt, best practices and
recommendations on how to eradicate the vice.
