Survivor Leadership & Advocacy
The focus of this program is strengthening the leadership capacities of survivors leaders through engaging them in leadership trainings and mentorship to enable them to take leadership positions in their personal lives, their communities, the antitrafficking sector and the larger human rights sector.
What the Program aims:

Strengthen survivor leadership by creating spaces for growth, contribution and community ownership.

Empower survivors to take leadership in their own lives and within the broader counter-trafficking movement
Activities:

Survivor Voices Forum: Brings together survivor leaders to share their expertise across various topics with the community. Facilitates learning and built confidence and leadership among survivors.

Membership Meetings: Provide a space for members to voice their needs, discuss challenges, and provide feedback on delivery of ongoing support, ensuring that our interventions are survivor-centred and informed by their lived experiences.

Welfare Support: In times of need and in celebrating their birthdays reflect our spirit of solidarity and communal healing.

Membership Advisory Board: Meetings enable them to surface emerging needs and provide recommendations to the Azadi team. Members also participate in interviews and board meetings, ensuring that survivor voices shape organizational direction.

Research and Outreach Activities: Survivor leaders are actively involved in knowledge production and community outreach, reinforcing their role as co-creators and change-makers.

Art Community: Art activities provide survivors with a creative outlet for self-expression through wearable art.

Queer Community: Ongoing sensitizations on queer rights ensured that our work lived up to the value of intersectionality. Through the training, we have built a community that recognizes the layered identities and experiences within the community.

Research community: Survivors have developed survivor-led research papers, providing data-driven evidence as co-creators

Outreach community: Engage stakeholders through various awareness and advocacy activities
